Last weekend before the international break. Let's just dive in, shall we?

Texas Sun

There’s a version of FC Dallas we’ve all gotten used to over the past nine months: compact, reactive and comfortable without the ball; vertical opportunistic (in moments) with it. That team has been functional and even dangerous at times, but fundamentally limited. What we saw in Saturday night’s 4-3 Texas Derby win over Houston was, I think,  something different. And if it’s real, it changes the ceiling of this group.

Because this wasn’t just a chaotic rivalry game. It became chaotic, sure – Dallas up 2-0, then down 3-2 in the span of four unhinged first-half minutes. But the macro story, especially in the second half, was Dallas taking control of the rhythm in a way we simply haven’t seen from them.

Before we get there, a quick highlight with this touch and take from Logan Farrington:

Logan Farrington with a Bergkamp-esque touch here. My lord.

That’s Bergkamp stuff.
