LAFC have hit a tipping-point where a big move is necessary, Philly keep climbing and the bottom drops out in Utah
This past weekend was the final matchday of the August grind – a month where just about everybody had some kind of "6 games in 24 days" stretch that tested depth/flexibility/resiliency/all of the above. Some teams obviously handled it pretty well, while others learned some hard truths about who they are, and where they fall short.
That obviously has some bearing on the Power Rankings, which, by definition, are a regular-season kind of thing. So don't think of these as implied MLS Cup odds, because they aren't. This is just a snapshot.
One note: Soccerwise be going live on Wednesday afternoon. I'll be joined by Brian Dunseth and Tommy Scoops, who will be in the middle of scooping during the show. The idea is that me & Dunny will talk through the news that's breaking, while Tom will be answering the phone mid-show and actually breaking the news, then coming back to explain, on the stream, the moving parts.
I think it'll be chaotic, but also fun. I'm looking forward to it, and hope to see you there.
